I had such a great time shooting Keenan on Hollywood blvd the other day! The story was “New Musician to L.A.” Hollywood Blvd always makes for a great back drop, so interesting and challenging at times too. Keenan was a great model up for anything and took direction well. Below are a few images from our shoot, and I look forward to shooting more musicians in the future.

As a former actor myself I know what it’s like to get headshots done in Los Angeles… It’s not really that fun. But it is part of the business and it’s really not that bad, actually it can be a really fun experience. I make all of my client feel comfortable and I get to know them, so we can talk during our shoot. I remember the last time I got my headshots done, which was years ago… the session was horrible! I had no connection with the photographer, because he didn’t try to make one… he was nice during our first meeting, once I made an appointment, that all changed. So, needless to say, I did not feel good about the shoot or our time together. When I shoot Women’s Headshots and Men’s headshots, or even professional business men and women’s headshots, I want to make it as comfortable and fun as possible! I always have music on to lighten up the mood it helps to put people at ease and have something in common. I shoot my headshots indoors and outdoors using natural lighting for a perfectly lit headshot. I love shooting in new locations, so if I client has a suggestion I am always willing to travel and shoot their location! My headshots get my clients work, and that’s what it is all about!
I recently had the pleasure of working with Cynthia Roman at her make up studio, Cynthia Roman Make Up Studio. It is always a pleasure to work with Cynthia because of the beautiful looks she creates. We also worked with the fantastic Michael David Gallego, who is amazing with both hair and make up. Our beautiful model was Kathryn who has her own blog, The Blonde & The Brunette. She was a delight to work with and made for a gorgeous model!
In addition to being a make up artist, Cynthia is known for her “lash dips” and “lash extensions” which was the main goal of the photo shoot. You can see the before and afters on her website. The day was going so great, we got all the before and after shots, daytime looks, evening looks, and then while shooting in an alley, behind a building in Beverly Hills, I found a photographers dream. The setting sun was bouncing off a mirrored window of one of the building and reflecting a GORGEOUS warm light on the wall. Michael helped assist me as well as change Kathryn’s hair style in about two minutes, as not to allow any of the warm golden light to escape from our shot. We fired off over thirty shots before the light dissipated. You can see some of the shots below.
On Saturday I attended the annual Dia De Los Muertos celebration at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I went two years ago at night and it was a totally different experience and incredibly too crowded. This year I went during the day, so that I could get pictures with the best light possible. It was a hot 85 degrees, but well worth it. Below are a few of the images I captured.

I was asked to shoot a wedding last week. I was a little apprehensive at first, I then learned that it was only going to be the bride and groom at the Norwalk Courthouse. I was to take photos in the “chapel” and the rest to be outside the courthouse. I agreed and knew that I was going to have to be very creative. I showed up early to scope out the area and as it turns out the courthouse is next to a library which has a huge open lawn, with a few trees and even fewer flowers. I was going to really have to think hard to make this work. It was later in the day, so I knew the sun was getting lower and would make for some really great and dramatic shots. I took my bride and groom into the soggy grass of the library and this is what we got. I am very pleased with the results!
